Trauma-informed, nature-based sessions for grief processing, emotional release, and resilience

Take it to the Compost

Nature shows us that even what feels heavy, painful, or broken can be transformed. Just like compost turns scraps into rich soil, your hardest experiences can become the foundation for new growth, strength, and resilience.

Services:

Individual Sessions

One-on-one support in a grounding, nature-based setting.

Group Sessions

Small, supportive gatherings where connection and healing take root.

Sliding Scale Access

Because cost should never stand in the way of care.

Healing doesn’t have to happen in a sterile office or in isolation.

Sometimes the best medicine is fresh air, soil under your hands, and the steady rhythm of nature
holding space for you.

Rooted in Empathetic Support

At Planted Path Emotional Wellness, Bree Stark offers therapeutic horticulture practices and nature-based mentoring for those navigating grief, living with depression, or walking the recovery path from substance use disorder. Her approach is trauma-informed and harm reduction-minded — meaning you’ll always be met with compassion, understanding, and zero judgment.

Whether you’re grieving, struggling with depression, or in recovery, you don’t have to carry it alone. Together, we’ll take what feels heavy, break it down, and create space for new growth.

The Heart Behind Planted Path

Bree Stark is the founder of Planted Path Emotional Wellness, a therapeutic horticulture facilitator, and an instructor in the University of Florida’s Certificate in Horticultural Therapy. She provides trauma-informed, nature-based support for people navigating grief, depression, and recovery, using therapeutic horticulture practices to help transform what feels heavy into the foundation for resilience and growth.

Bree’s work is informed by both professional training and lived experience. After losing her brother to an overdose, she became committed to offering support grounded in compassion, harm reduction, and practical tools. She believes healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation or a sterile office — it can begin outdoors, with the simple act of working with plants, soil, and the cycles of nature.

She earned her BS in Agricultural Education and Communication from the University of Florida (2012), completed UF’s Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program (2022), and now serves as an instructor and admissions director for that program (2020). Bree is also a founding advisory member of the Florida Horticulture for Health Network, which received the Alice Burlingame Humanitarian Service Award in 2022. In 2023, she received the Ann Lane Mavromatis Award for Student Excellency from the American Horticultural Therapy Association and was a presenter at their 2024 national conference.

Looking ahead, Bree plans to expand horticultural-for-health programs in Northwest Florida with a special focus on supporting people impacted by substance use disorder, grief, and the growing mental health challenges connected to ecological and climate crises.
